The Slovak Film Insitute (Slovenský filmový ústav – SFÚ), established in 1963, member of FIAF and EFP, is the sole national institution in the field of cinematography. It consists of the National Film Archive and the National Cinematographic Centre. The National Film Archive collects, preserves, and protects national cinematographic heritage and makes it available for the public. At the same time, SFÚ handles producers rights to Slovak films produced by Slovak national studios in 1895 – 1991 and highly supports their international presentation. The National Cinematographic Centre serves as the national film promotion centre, providing complex information and documentation services related to Slovak cinema, organizing film events in Slovakia and abroad.

Synopsis: Fajolo, a student who directs quasi-existentialist verbal abuse at his girlfriend Bela, takes off to a volunteer summer work camp at a farm, actually mandated by the authorities, which inspires both him and Bela to start a relationship with someone else. A parallel story peels layers off Bela’s permanently tense home life marked by her blind mother’s helplessness and her father’s revealed infidelity. Her father happens to live in the village where Fajolo is finding some consolation in the arms of a fellow student-volunteer Jana. As Fajolo begins to pry into Bela’s grandfather’s secrets, she, in turn, allows her new boyfriend Peťo to read and Fajolo’s indirectly remorseful letters from the farm.

One decided to blow up a tribune the night before fat communists were due to sit on it and instead got drunk and found himself in handcuffs. Despite not killing or hurting anyone in their failed attempts, all three found themselves in prison, sentenced as terrorists.
