AVVANTURA FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS European producer LUÍS MIÑARRO

Luis Miñarro is a member of the Academy of the Cinematographic arts and sciences of Spain, Academy of the Catalan cinema, Catalan Association of the Cinematographic and Audiovisual Production Companies, European Film Academy and Creative Club. With his Company Eddie Saeta S.A. defender of Cinema as Art, he has a personal commitment that means he invests his time, money and energy defending Cinema as an Art and to fight against the hegemonic cinema.

We presented several films produced by the Barcelona based Filmproducer at Avvantura Film Festival. Finisterrae, 101 and La Lapidation de Saint Ètienne. Miñarros production Company Eddie Saeta is behind major succesful films in the film festival circuit during the last years (Palm D´Or winner Uncle Boonmee is the most well known).

Synopsis:
Manoel de Oliveira is the oldest active filmmaker around today. He began making documentaries in the 1930s. After the commercial failure of his feature debut Aniki Bóbó (1942) he took up other professions. He later worked on set with Marcello Mastroianni, Catherine Deneuve and Michel Piccoli, and his films have competed at Cannes and Venice. De Oliveira has been shooting at least one film per year since 1990.
